About Jakarta / Indonesia

Welcome to Jakarta

Jakarta, located in the northern coast of West Java, is the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia and the centre of government, business and industry activities. It is the main gateway to the Indonesian archipelago and one of the fastest growing cities in the world with over 9,000 million inhabitants. The city is a contrast of modern and western architecture and traditional Indonesian culture.

As Indonesia’s main gateway, Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport serves a growing number of international airlines and provides ample domestic flights.

In recent years, Jakarta has expanded its facilities for visitors with multi-star luxury hotels, fine restaurants, exciting nightlife and modern shipping as well as tourist attractions.

Jakarta is also mainly responsible for Indonesia’s economic growth with keen national and international investors participating in the economic activities. A set of policy had also been determined recently by the central government to trigger Jakarta’s economic growth to further enhance and perfect the export and investment rules as well as to simplify the banking rule. The government fully supports the private sectors in terms of financial support for social and cultural activities. Therefore, the private sectors play an important role in the national government.
